Job Overview
The Business Development and Marketing Associate supports the mission of our sober living residence by promoting its services, expanding its community reach, and strengthening referral networks. This position plays a key role in increasing visibility and trust in the community while adhering to ethical marketing practices in the behavioral health space. This role is ideal for someone passionate about recovery, communications, and community building, with the ability to manage outreach across both digital and local platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Digital Engagement
· • Develop and implement ethical marketing strategies to promote the sober living facility’s services.
· • Manage digital campaigns across social media, email marketing, SEO, and content strategy.
· • Create and update branded materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, presentations, newsletters).
· • Support website content planning and track engagement metrics.
Community Engagement & Business Development
· • Cultivate relationships with referral sources: clinicians, treatment centers, case managers, probation officers, etc.
· • Coordinate outreach events, tabling at health fairs, local speaking engagements, or networking mixers.
· • Assist in promoting and facilitating monthly open houses or community tours.
· • Maintain a partner contact database and regularly follow up with key stakeholders.
Brand Alignment & Ethics
· • Ensure all marketing and messaging reflects the organization’s trauma-informed, recovery-centered values.
· • Follow all applicable confidentiality policies and ensure materials respect HIPAA and VARR/NARR guidance.
· • Participate in community education efforts that reduce stigma and increase access to recovery housing.
Reporting & Program Support
· • Track key metrics related to outreach effectiveness (referrals, web traffic, social engagement).
· • Submit monthly summaries of community contacts, campaign results, and upcoming marketing opportunities.
· • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure consistent branding and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications
· • High School Diploma or GED required; AA or BA in marketing, communications, or public health preferred.
· • 1+ years in marketing, community outreach, or business development; behavioral health or nonprofit preferred.
· • Proficient in digital tools (Canva, email platforms, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics).
· • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· • Comfortable speaking in public and networking in diverse environments.
· • Strong time management and follow-up discipline.
· • Understanding of recovery housing, addiction services, or peer support models is a plus.
